Lil Nas X Understands Running His Mouth About Homophobia In The Rap Industry Is Dangerous

Lil Nas X Variety cover

Lil Nas X is fully out of the closet. He is gay and proud of it. He has also risen to the top in the rap music scene since coming out of the closet. The rapper’s actions which also displays a love for the devil appears to be a nod to the riches and fame attained. There is a long standing rumor of mediocre talents being approached in the music industry  by unknown individuals to sell their soul for the prime level of fame and riches. It’s Lil Nas X’s same sexual affection though that is troubling rappers.

Lil Nas X

The openingly gay rapper who has been pushing the limits of late with his affection for men in his music videos, onstage and speaking on his personal preference, explained that he knows his limits. He said:

“The honest truth is, I don’t want to speak on a lot of the homophobia within rap because I feel like this is a very dangerous playing field. It’s more for my own safety rather than anything else.”

Backlash over the rapper’s sexually and continued, consistent in your face actions for actions many felt should be left in the bedroom was enough for some launch threats at the bold rapper. Montero(below) was that music video by Lil Nas X which fueled the anger in many people.

And as for if he feels unsafe and what he had to resort to…the rapper said:

“Yeah, a lot of times, absolutely. Especially after [‘Montero’]. There was literally someone who chased my car a few days after that video came out, yelling, ‘F*** you!’ or something. And that’s when I actually started getting security.”

Many considered the rapper a one hit wonder after Old Town. Despite his surge in the music industry even with some hits after Old Town…many still wonder how many more hits he has in the tank to survive in the music industry.
