A bunch of people apparently told Jussie Smollett that it was okay to be amongst his people at the BET Awards. Smollett was found guilty of creating a hoax claiming he was attacked late hours in the morning based on his sexual preference and color by white men. He was found guilty of the creating a false hate crime with a sentence of 150 days in jail. However, Smollett only served six days of that 150 days as his case went into the appeals process. Smollett still maintains his innocence, and made it clear that he would never lie about being attacked, saying:
If I had done something like this, it would mean that I stuck my fist in the pain of Black Americans in this country for over 400 years … It would mean that I stuck my fist in the fears of the LGBTQ community all over the world.” Smollett added, “I’m not that motherfucker.
Many don’t believe the once well respected actor is innocent. The comments of shock that Smollett would dare show up at the 2022 BET Awards quickly sent off fire responses.
Who let Jussie Smollett into the BETAwards ? This n***a faked a hate crime and blamed white people for it, and got a slap on the wrist. If you got money regardless of race, you have privilege.

That’s crazy how Jussie Smollett is out & about, showing his face like that situation never happened.
Smollett lost his job on Empire as the heat turned up against him faking a hate crime for financial gain and heightening public attention to himself. Empire also sufferer in the ratings and got cancelled, reportedly over negative press of Smollett that is said to cause Empire to lose viewers. The disgraced actor has become a punching bag for comedians, and a joke to the black community.
