Kurt Russell and his significant other Goldie Hawn are at stage in their relationship where most married couples today struggle to reach. The non married couple have been together for 37 years, and they are not about to tie the knot from the opinions of others. What they got works, and they are not about to allow any outside force to come in and destroy their union. Speaking to People Magazine, Russell had this to say of the continuous question as to why he and Hawn didn’t get married:
For people like us, the marriage certificate wasn’t going to create anything that otherwise we wouldn’t have.
Hawn is clear that she is not against marriage, but have been through enough to know that it doesn’t define the success of one’s union. She touches on other martial situations she has witnessed besides her previous failed marriage:
Well, we’re not at 40 years yet. Our children got married. I mean, they didn’t not get married. Oliver’s very happily married and Wyatt’s very happily married. Katie got married once and that didn’t work, and she’s with this most amazing human and I don’t know if she’ll marry again. The point is that we all tried marriage and sometimes marriage doesn’t work.”
Thoughts? Hawn and Russell met back in 1983, and very rarely are on the same projects together. We don’t know if that’s the secret of a long union, but clearly these two have that connection so lacking in relationship failing today in one taking time to understand the other.
