Former National Security Advisor, John Bolton has a new book out(The Room Where It Happened), and the interest of Bolton’s new book is overwhelming. Typically, no one would care about a John Bolton book, but there is juice in the book about Trump’s alleged un-professionalism.
There is also talk also about Trump really not caring about anyone but himself. Bolton also claims of Trump’s attempt to win re-election through allegedly asking China for help. Bolton witnessing Trump in action more in-depth of who he really is in terms of what he really thinks of the mass says Trump is a liar. The former National Security Advisor went to say Trump has a soft spot for autocrats as he was asked by Colbert which world leader took advantage of Trump’s mentality. Bolton said:
Everyone of them. Its a close race to see who could see through him the clearest and try to manipulate him…Xi Jinping, Vladmir Putin, Kim Jung Un, Erdogan of Turkey. There is a long list of them, and to me that was obviously very troubling. The president didn’t study the facts of the issues he had to discuss with these leaders. He didn’t prepare to the extent as should. He would say this to his advisors and others. He wanted to do this the same as he did real estate deals in New York. He would say he could make a nuclear deal with Iran in a day.
Bolton continued of his fear in Trump in these meetings:
I always had the feeling sitting in these meeting that they could see right through him. It was not a fair fight.
Colbert shocked in how Bolton could not know who Trump in before taking a job with his administration said this to Bolton:
There is absolutely nothing that Donald Trump has done that is surprising to me. My rule is: everything that you think about Donald Trump is probably true, because he is not deep enough to get your socks wet it. He is incredibly read-able. Thats why when he ran casinos, The House lost. There is nothing to learn about him. Thats why he is essentially a boring person. How did you not know before hand that he was just callow.
Because I couldn’t believe it was that bad. I know other people say they say it from the beginning.
But your a National negotiator. How could you be naive. You’ve dealt with the worse people in the world.
Bolton getting red from embarrasssment said:
You’ve really insulted me now by calling me naive. I thought it was possible to work with somebody, surely they’ll want to learn about the complexities of arms control negotiations and that sort of thing. And, as I detail in the book that turned out not to be true.
Trump as he so often does to anyone who doesn’t agree with him went on the attack in calling Bolton a traitor.
